Ökotuba – organic skincare and a smart booking system
We built an organic skincare store and a facial-treatment booking system from scratch, and it has run uninterrupted for more than five years – with the studio’s staff managing their working hours straight from Google Calendar, without ever opening the WordPress admin.

Challenge
A good store is half the solution – the other half is booking
Ökotuba is two things at once: a store for selected organic cosmetics brands and a facial-treatment studio. On one side it sells carefully chosen organic products (Esse Probiotic Skincare, Couleur Caramel, Wesak Paris and others), on the other it takes bookings for paid facial treatments.
Standard WooCommerce covers the store side well. But the real heart of the studio – free slots, bookings and staff schedules – needed something no off-the-shelf plugin solves well. The system had to be usable through the tool the staff already work in every day, not through the WordPress admin. In other words: everything had to run in Google Calendar.
Solution
Ordinary WordPress, one smart plugin
We took ordinary WordPress and WooCommerce and wrote a custom booking plugin on top that ties the store and the studio together. The clever part is that the complexity stays under the bonnet: to a staff member it all looks like a normal Google Calendar, and to a customer like a normal shopping cart.
- Staff set their own working hours – straight in Google Calendar, not in WordPress
- The customer picks a free slot on the site and the booking is confirmed as a WooCommerce order
- Every booking appears automatically in the studio’s shared Google Calendar
- Reminder emails go out to customers automatically
- Gift cards are generated as an automatic PDF
- Nobody has to open the WordPress admin for day-to-day work

Under the hood
Built to last
The platform runs on WordPress and WooCommerce. The booking logic lives in a custom plugin that talks to Google Calendar through a service account – every booking becomes a WooCommerce order and shows up in the studio’s shared calendar. Payments go through Montonio, and reminders and gift-card PDFs are generated automatically.
The whole custom layer is written to keep working for years without constant intervention – and that is exactly what it has done. It is a good example of how one well-considered plugin turns ordinary WordPress into a real product.
Result
Five years of uninterrupted service
Today 95% of bookings are made directly on the site – nobody has to agree times over the phone or fill in a calendar by hand. The store brings steady revenue from organic skincare products, and the whole system has run uninterrupted for more than five years.
